According to his Facebook page, Jones is a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local Union 164 based in Paramus.
More than $1,300 had been raised as of Tuesday evening on a GoFundMe launched by his sister, Kari Jones.
Jones was rushed to the hospital via ambulance on Jan. 25, she said.
He suffered more than 20 broken bones and underwent emergency surgery lasting nine hours, the GoFundMe says.
"We all know the kind of man my brother is," Kari said of Kevin. "He would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it."
